The Glen Lyn Residential Care Home has been
providing care in Minehead for over 21 years . The current
owners Stephen and Melanie Reaney have over 12 years experience
in running Care Homes for the elderly. Mrs. Reaney, a Registered
Genaral Nurse, has been caring for older people for the past
22 years.
The Glen Lyn was awarded Quality Rating Status in August 2001
by Somerset County Council.

The Care Home and Its Surroundings
Situated on Tregonwell Road in Minehead. Just a short, level
walk away from Mineheads main shopping street, Blenheim gardens,
the sea front and the West Somerset Steam Railway. A few minutes
drive will take you to The picturesque Exmoor villages of Dunster
and Porlock. Visitors to the home can find excellent overnight accommodation
in local B+Bs or hotels. Alternatively the overnight stay room can
be made available.

You will find the Care Home extremely friendly and
relaxed.
Our aim is to maintain or improve peoples current level of
ability for as long as possible.
The staff are trained to encourage, support and facilitate.Of
course if care needs do increase then extra care can be arranged
following assessment.
Don’t just sit there
The Glen Lyn has an activities program which includes creative
movement,gentle exercise, cooking, gardening,music and reminiscence
therapy. Outings and excursions are made according to peoples
choice. Regular meetings take place to discuss how people
wish to spend their time. We offer a four weekly rotational
menu with seasonal availability. All our food is freshly prepared
on the premises by our cook who has undertaken nutritional
training for older people.
