About the Glen Lyn Residential Care Home in Minehead
Glen Lyn is a small care home in Minehead, a coastal resort in the picturesque surroundings of Exmoor and West Somerset. We offer long term , short stay and day care facilities. We were awarded quality rated status in 2001; an award given to those providers whose standards exceed minimum requirements.
Our facilities
It has 11 single ensuite rooms and provides professional individualised support in a calm, relaxed and very homely environment. Our Minehead care home is particularly suited to those people whose anxieties mean they are unable to look after themselves at home and for people who have mild to moderate confusional states. We offer freshly prepared home-cooked food.
Who we care for
We welcome those who are funded by the Local Authority as well as those who will be paying for their own care. It is suggested that a trial stay of 4 weeks gives enough time for a person to begin to feel at home and to ensure the placement is the right one.

Our main aim is to maintain or improve our residents' current levely of ability for as long as possible. The staff are trained to encourage, support and facilitate.

Just a short, level walk away from Blenheim Gardens, the sea front & the West Somerset Railway - and a short drive takes you to Exmoor, Dunster and Porlock.
Regular Activities, Outings and Excursions
Gentle exercise, cooking, gardening, music and reminiscence therapy are amongst some of our activities - and excursions are made according to residents' preferences.
